Casa del Garbo stands in the heart of Florence, part of the historical architectural backdrop of Piazza della Signoria, directly facing the Palazzo Vecchio. The property is part of the Uguccioni Palace. Since the 16th century it used to host a nunnery: the Monache degli Angeli, who added to the building the 17th century Annunciation tabernacle ascribed to Matteo Rosselli. The Renaissance complex 'Uguccioni Palace' includes - in addition to the properly called palace, ascribed to Raffaello and his pupils, and home of the noble Uguccioni family until a few years ago - other constructions of high architectural value. The building portion at the corner between the Piazza della Signoria and via dei Magazzini is called 'Casa del Garbo'. The sandstone facade of the main building exhibits three architectural orders: the groundfloor with faceted ashlars is doric; the upper stores, with tall windows separated by paired columns, are ionic and corinthian.

MSNSUITES Palazzo dei Ciompi formerly 'Palazzo Pascolutti- Giani' is a 19th Century building composed of 21 completely renovated suite apartments. The Palazzo Dei Ciompi was previously home of the 'Accademia dei Risoluti', which gave birth to the florence theatre named 'Alfieri'.

Fantoni brother and sister have decided to use a part of this family villa, which dates back to the end of the nineteenth century, as a high class Bed and Breakfast. It?s certainly the ideal place for visiting Florence and its surroundings, enjoying an invaluable atmosphere of tranquillity and harmony. The name of this elegant Florentine residence is linked to the road that the gardens look onto: Via Bolognese. It is the oldest postal road crossing the Tuscan Apennines and today gives convenient access to Florence from the most charming residential area around the city. In one direction it leads to the city centre, but in the other, this road, which starts from the ancient gate of S. Gallo at Ponte Rosso, leads up the Pellegrino hill and continues through the hills of Pietra and Lastra, Trespiano and Pratolino. Here, once past the park of the Medici villa of the same name, it leaves Florence behind it and continues upwards to Futa, in the direction of Bologna, through valleys, ridges and mountains. Villa La Sosta, which in the past was part of a more extensive property on the Montughi hill, is surrounded by large gardens with cypress and fruit trees; the building itself is elegant and sober, enriched by architectural elements recalling the eclectic style of the beginning of the 1900s, like the main bow-window entrance and the tower-mansard which gives a view of the surrounding hillside. The continental breakfast is served in the spacious and elegant hall in colder months and in the garden, under an ivy pergola, in the summer. We can serve gluten-free breakfasts.
